PORSCHE
CLUB OF AMERICA, SHASTA REGION
MINUTES
OF JUNE 12, 2008 MEETING
President Bob Dunlap called the meeting to
order at Marie Callender’s Restaurant at 7p.m. with 23 members present. Roundtable introductions were made with each
member and their model(s) of Porsches and color.
I.
TREASURER’S REPORT
A. Pam Dunlap, Treasurer,
reported a balance on hand of $3,192.74.
The Region Rebate of $252.00 was
received from National PCA and
a disbursement to Harvey Weidman for newsletter expenses was
made, keeping our balance above $3,000.00. Pam asked for
approval to look into a new
embroidery shop for making of club
logos on hats, shirt, etc.
Approval made.
II.
WEBSITE MANAGER’S REPORT
A. Phred Degner reported that
tour updates will be made and new
pictures will be added to the
website.
III.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
A. Membership: President Dunlap said that our membership is
holding steady at 61 members. New members Troy Dornbusch and Melanee Johnson were introduced
(‘06 black Cayman S with Tip) and welcomed. Harvey Weidman said his brother wants to join
and had been an early PCA member.
B. TOURS: Tourmeister, Jerry Nystrom, announced the tour
for
Sunday, June 22, going to Mt.
Shasta via I-5, then the old Shasta
Highway with meanderings with
great views and lunch at Lilli’s
Restaurant in Mt. Shasta. Meet at 9 a.m., at Oasis on Athens and
leave at 9:30. Jerry will not lead the tour as he will be at
the
West Coast 356 Holiday at Squaw
Valley. President Bob will be
the tourmeister. Other scheduled tours were discussed with
the
decision that our July will be
the Coastal Overnight tour with Brookings, OR or Crescent City being
destinations via Grants Pass, OR.
August is still open, but September is the Napa/Wine Tour and October will include
Chico/Oroville. Great tours are coming up!
Gail Gleichweit spoke on the
upcoming Napa tour. The Porsche
Museum at Palmaz Winery will be
open only to our group and
cars are being moved into the
new facility this week. The cars in
the Museum are all Porsche race
cars and LeMans cars. Approval
was made for Sunday, 9/14 for a group
dinner. Pam Dunlap and
Gail will be sending out e-mails directly to
those previously signed
up for the tour regarding tour schedule,
participation and advance billing. This form will need to be responded to by September 1 or sooner.
OLD BUSINESS
A. IRS
Form 990N Status is finished and we are a legal entity.
B. Santa
Maria Barbecue has made no progress and will be taken
up
next year.

BUSINESS
ROUND THE TABLE: Comments made
by members included Duane
Spencer’s going to the 356 Holiday
in his cool 911. Jerry Nystrom
spoke of the great job ColorMaster
did on rock chips on his 356
and being reasonable of
price. Dale Gleichweit spoke of new LED
tail lights being available for
356’s and his other half said she had
luck with Invisible Glass and
micro fiber towels (no streaks and no
interior fogging). The President asked if anyone knew of a
person
that could be an informational speaker
on car related topics for the
Club meetings and to let him
know. Jerry agreed to contact “Jessie” from ColorMaster as a possible
speaker for our July meeting.
RAFFLE:
Duane and Beth Spencer won a car duster
and car wash.
