With the winter weather becoming more distant in our rear-view mirrors, we're looking forward to another season of Porsche festivities! 

We had our first meeting of the year and enjoyed meeting some new folks and welcoming back some old friends.    It was nice to meet Jim Taylor, who shared with us some of his Porsche experiences.  Jim is a charter member of Santa Barbara Region, and has been a Porsche owner/enthusiast for over 40 years—welcome Jim!  Greg Story from Palo Cedro joined us for the meeting too.  Greg brings to our region a pair of 928's.  Of course, anybody who owns a 928 knows "you can't have just one!"  Welcome Greg, it's good to have another fellow 928'er among us!  Bob Strickler joined us from Weaverville, and we're all dying to see his 1953 356.  It was good to see Brian Packham with us and we look forward to his company in our events this year.  Gary Hollahan from the Trinity Tour Club was our guest, and it was great to meet him and talk "Porsche" with him.  Jerry and Elly Nystrom were present and accounted for too.  Jerry, our perennial Tour Director, has been faithful in attending nearly every meeting and function we held in 2004, despite significant challenges.  Jerry was, and continues to be one of the most energetic and up-beat members of our region.  It was my pleasure to present him with "The Enthusiast of the Year" award for 2004. Thanks again for all you've done for us, Jerry!  We look forward to many "creative" routes on our tours this year with a few surprises thrown in just to keep it interesting.

We welcome new members, Jon and Rhonda Carlson from Paradise with their 02 Boxter.  We look forward to meeting you and having you join us in our 2005 activities.  I hope to see many of you at our next meeting, March 16, and then at our first tour of the season, on the 19^th of March.
