Fellow Porsche Enthusiasts The dry summer weather is at last upon us and we can take our P-toys out of the garage without fear of menacing raindrops landing upon their pampered paint. Our Burney tour was to have taken place on June 19th, but dry roads, clear weather, and mild temperatures prevented all but two of us from showing up. Big thanks to Mike and Sharon Smith for making the long journey from Lake Shastina to join Pam and me for a little conversation and mutual admiration of 928s. Our next tour promises to be more luring than just a drive in the beautiful mountains of northern California—we’re headed to the coast! This is the first of our two “over-niters” in 2005. We’ll head out on the 23rd of July and take one of the best Porsche Roads in the north state—Highway 36—to Eureka. We’ll have picnic lunch at one of the many picturesque sites along the way, and dine at a great restaurant overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We’ll enjoy shopping, sightseeing and dining before retiring for the evening at the Holiday Inn Express in McKinleyville. The next day will provide plenty of sights to see and a leisurely brunch at a seaside restaurant. It was a great event last year and this year’s trip promises to be equally fun. Check out our website or newsletter for more details. The next event after our jaunt to the coast will be the annual Spencer Pool Party on the 14th of August. Mark your calendars for a “hot” time in Lakehead. And, of course, we’ll see all of you for the first annual Porsche Escape in Santa Rosa on the 27th and 28th of August. See the newsletter or website for registration and additional information on this too. See you on the road! Bob |
