President’s Message Tour # 1 In the Bag!

Fellow Porsche Enthusiasts,

What a great start to our 2007 touring season!  The weather was absolutely perfect—not a cloud in the sky—made for ideal touring conditions for our March tour.  Clear, dry and clean roads and nice group of happy Porschefiles were the order of the day.  Pam and I parked in front of Oasis Auto Repair in our red 914, and were joined in a few minutes by Ed and Gloria Barnett in their red 911.  Will and Kathy Thompson soon followed in their red 964, and a few minutes later, Bob Cochran arrived in his red Cayman.  Hmmm, do you see a trend here?  Someone must not have told Russ and Ruth Duclos, because they arrived in a blue 993.  Duane and Beth Spencer must have decided to leave their red Porsche at home and arrived in their white 356.  Jerry Nystrom arrived in time to complete the field of Porsches with his red Boxster.  Red, white and blue Porsches—sounds like a tour better suited for the 4th of July!  With 5 red Porsches, we attracted lots of attention and got lots of waves from other drivers and on-lookers from Dry Creek to Whiskeytown to Cottonwood.  For our poker run, we played the ever-popular “change the rules after each draw” version of the game.  The only way we could have won it for each of our cards to be wildcards! Bob Cochran drove away with the best hand and a nice car too.  For his lucky draws, he won a $50.00 gift certificate for dinner at a restaurant of his choice.   Way to go Bob!
