President’s MessageFun Times Ahead in 2007

 

Fellow Porsche Enthusiasts,

 

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for a long summer with lots of seat time in some great tours.  Shasta Region said farewell to 2006 with our annual Christmas Party.  Russ Duclos outdid himself (again) with his selection of the Riverside Golf and Country Club as the site of our event.  The weather was cooperative, the food was great, the atmosphere was perfect, and the people (Porsche people) were the best in the world!  We played the CRS Challenge game, and handed out some nifty prizes.  Jerry Nystrom, through the help of his talented daughter, presented a music video of Shasta Region activities which was loads of fun!  Jerry announced that copies of the DVD are available, so if you missed seeing it at the Christmas Party, contact Jerry to get your own copy. 

2007 promises to be a fun year with many new things on the horizon.  Harvey and Sue Weidman have some great ideas for our newsletter, Shasta Northwinds. Jerry Nystrom has a few tricks up his sleeve for tours this season, and Phred Degner will be at the helm of our region website.  It’s great to have the expertise of Duane Spencer so close by, and I especially appreciate him continuing on as Vice President.  Russ Duclos eagerly jumped at the chance to be the Region Secretary, but only on the condition that we all speak very s l o w l y  at all the meetings.  Pam Dunlap, a very close relation of mine, continues as Treasurer and promises to keep the books straight as long as accuracy doesn’t become an issue.
